Nissha FIS Inc. (hereinafter “Nissha FIS”), a Nissha company, has obtained “UL60335-2-40 Ed.4 ANNEX LL,” the U.S. safety certification for detection systems of flammable refrigerants, for its developed refrigerant gas sensor module. The UL certification is given to products meeting standards for safety and performance. This time, Nissha FIS obtained it from UL LLC, one of the U.S. National Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTL).

Refrigerants are substances to absorb and release heat, used in air conditioners and refrigerators. Some refrigerants are flammable, making safety devices extremely important. Consequently, air conditioners and refrigerators are increasingly being equipped with gas sensors to detect refrigerant leaks.

In the U.S. market, third-party certification showing compliance with the applicable standards is required to sell refrigerant leak detection sensors. We aim to expand business with this certification in the U.S., the largest market for commercial air conditioners.
