Nissha to Exhibit Friction and Shear Force Sensors at "ICRA2024",
an International Conference on Robotics and Automation
May 14, 2024
Nissha Co., Ltd.
Devices Business Unit of Nissha Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Nissha") is exhibiting at the "ICRA 2024 (2024 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation)" held at PACIFICO Yokohama from May 13, 2024. ICRA is one of the world's leading international conferences on robotics and automation, held annually by the Robotics and Automation Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Nissha will have a booth for friction and shear force sensors from the 14th in this conference.
Our friction and shear force sensors can simultaneously detect vertical and horizontal force. Our products are thin and lightweight as well as highly flexible in shape because they use film as the base material. We expect to use them in applications such as tactile sensors* for robots.
*By embedding friction and shear force sensors in the robot's fingertips, the robot detects the hardness and shape of the object when the robot's fingertips touch it. It will help the robot to grasp objects with the appropriate force.
