Nissha Acquires Printed Electronics Business of GSI Technologies, LLC

Expanding Product Lineup for Medical and Health Care Applications, and Securing New Sales Channel in North American Market

October 18, 2017

Nissha Co., Ltd.

Nissha USA, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Nissha Co., Ltd., concluded a business purchase agreement between its subsidiary Si-Cal Technologies, Inc. and GSI Technologies, LLC, acquiring the latter’s printed electronics business.

Reasons for Business Acquisition

With the February 2014 acquisition of Si-Cal Technologies into its Industrial Materials business, Nissha entered into and expanded operations in the printed electronics field, starting with printed sensor films for medical applications.
GSI Technologies boasts excellent technology and production capabilities in printed electronics, and particularly in printed sensor films for medical and healthcare applications. The company has a solid track record in the United States in the production and sales of products such as test strips for glucose meters, and sensor circuits for microfluidic devices.
Through the latest business acquisition, Nissha USA seeks to further expand its product lineup and customer base, improve its production efficiency, and accelerate growth in the printed electronics market.
