June 22, 2015

Nissha Printing Co.,Ltd.

Nissha Printing Co., Ltd. is a cosponsor of the  exhibition “Kitaoji Rosanjin: A Revolutionary in the Art of Japanese Cuisine" in The National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto from June 17th to August 16th, 2015.

Kitaoji Rosanjin (1883-1959) was particularly well-known as a gourmand who attained the pinnacle of gastronomy. Declaring that dishware is a "kimono" for food, Rosanjin expressively interpreted the appeal of Japanese cuisine, attempting to reinvent it in his own way. Through his work, we will explore the relationship between Japanese cuisine and its dishware, which crystallizes the Japanese spirit of hospitality and its concept of nature.
